Our client are the largest provider of custom blended solvent products within the UK. Based over two sites near York and Doncaster, they have exclusive rights to import and sell a number of other industry related products. Their business consists of a Business-to-Business model via appropriate distribution partners.
We are looking for an experienced and passionate individual to join their dynamic team. You will need to have an excellent knowledge of large-scale production. An excellent track record in planning and a strong understanding of quality and systems improvement. You will have a ‘hands on – can do’ approach and will relish the prospect of getting involved.
Working to support the Group Production Manager you will give advice on issues as they arise as well as participating in ad hoc projects focused on improving quality, production rates and efficiencies within the business.
Main Roles and Responsibilities
• Designing, developing, adhering, and promoting Quality Policies and Practices,
• Act as the authority on all Quality issues,
• Continuous and consistent development, implementation, and maintenance to enhance Products and Service quality and increasing customer satisfaction, retention, and attraction,
• Ensuring provisions for staff training and compliance with the requirements of the QMS programs
* Documenting and controlling containment, correction, corrective and preventive actions related to non-conforming outputs,
• Responsible for ensuring the planning and execution of product and QMS internal and external audit programme,
• Investigation of customer claims and manage this process and relevant controls,
• Create the QMS in line with the company strategy and framework requirement,
• Gathering and analysing data and inputs from various forums for communication to the business,
• Identification of risks and opportunities in the QMS that may affect safety, customers, and the company strategy and achievement of objectives,
• Champion a program for the implementation and sustainment of a Continuous Improvement and Quality culture
* Introduce new systems and procedures consistently at multiple sites,
• Train others in all aspects of the QMS and application of procedures and systems
• Undertake product and process audits of the Quality Management System (QMS)
• Design and implement ‘Control Plans’ and control strategies,
• Responsible for establishing, maintaining, and controlling quality records, instructions, standards, and documentation, for full traceability of orders,
• Lead regular meetings with representatives from appropriate departments to establish action plans for improving quality,
Development of KPIs / Metrics and associated scorecards and trackers from quality in conjunction with the Procurement function, reduce the effect of non-conforming supplier materials provided by 3rd parties,
• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers, and other service providers,
• Work with the senior management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing quality improvement activities and process procedure improvements to optimise results and improve quality of delivery in line with quality expectations,
• Communicate positively and proactively with personnel at all levels, internally and externally to the company in relation to quality matters Skills, Experience and Abilities
