Our client based in Knaresborough is looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager. You will be responsible for globally sourcing equipment, goods and services and managing suppliers. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend, search for better deals, and find more profitable suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Develop, lead and execute purchasing strategies
- Source quality and innovative products relevant to the care industry
- Maintain consistent supply in relation to our growth plans
- Forecasting stock & ordering
- Contact regular supplier reviews – both on pricing & service levels
- Seek and partner with reliable suppliers
- Determine optimum quantity and timing of deliveries
- Minimise supplier freight-in costs without impact on service
Additional department responsibility will include:
- Establish & maintain preferred suppliers list
- Maintain and update stock max/min & costings
- Daily ordering for special orders
- Working closely with all departments
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and previous purchasing experience is essential. You must be computer literate as you will be using Microsoft packages and their inhouse CRM system.
The working week is Monday – Friday, 8am – 4.30pm. In return my client is paying a salary of £38,000 - £44,000 with the potential to earn bonus.
