Our client based in York is looking to recruit a Project Manager to manage the day to day management of engineering and staff resource. You would be responsible for maintaining the technical team's skill levels and KPI'S.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining the teams skill levels in all disciplines to support near and long term business needs
- Plan, contribute and participate in the technical staff appraisal system
- Management, and monitoring the technical teams holiday entitlement, including approval
- Scheduling technical staff assignments where necessary, and mitigating conflicts including:
- Allocation of quotations
- New designs
- CAD conflicts
- Hardware developments
- R&D
- Technical support to other areas of the business
- For all new product designs, initial planning/scheduling using ERP tools and producing formal customer acknowledgements and updates whilst within engineering’s sphere of control
- Leading and managing larger “product” projects including qualification and space campaigns
- Leading and managing qualification programmes and liaising with external test facilities
- Organise and lead Technical Reviews, involving all necessary areas of the organisation
- Supervising engineering employees
- Chair the tri-weekly engineering meeting
- Technical representation on the “run the business”, sales, S&OP and production operations meetings
- Liaising with Customers on-site, and at customer facilities where necessary
- Liaising with Production Engineering
- Liaising and assisting Operations managers, Department Heads and directors
